The Protected Area of the Monte Catillo Nature Reserve encompasses a system of hilltops between the southern slopes of the Monti Lucretili and the course of the Aniene River.
Forests, shrublands, garrigues, and pastures are the environments of the Reserve, which lies entirely within the municipal territory of Tivoli.

Of limestone nature, despite its maximum elevation of 612 meters, Monte Catillo offers broad panoramas due to its location on the edge of the Roman Countryside. And it is precisely its position, between the last Apennine heights and the large alluvial plain towards the capital metropolis, that justifies its primary interest in naturalism, namely botanical.

Just a few minutes away from well-known tourist destinations such as Villa Adriana, Villa Gregoriana, Villa d'Este, and the historic center of Tivoli itself, the Reserve's trails offer secluded landscapes, verdant views, and a nature for connoisseurs.
